Family budgeting – just the thought of it makes most of us cringe. Many people make an honest attempt to budget, but become discouraged and give up before they are able to accomplish any significant financial gain. Recognizing our own responsibility in our life decisions goes against human nature. Throughout history mankind has been more inclined to immediately seek a scapegoat to blame if anything goes wrong and not as planned. Most would not take the time to consider it was due to poor individual choices and decisions made with lack of personal knowledge. Thankfully, there were a few, who must have questioned this and aided mankind's intellectual evolution! ‘Limits are necessary to give purpose and direction to life. Swimming in a sea of boundless opportunity would eventually lead to exhaustion and drowning. Winging it alone in a sky of boundless opportunity would lead to being lost. In human affairs, the making of choices, and alliances, implies limitation, for in choosing one path another must be abandoned.’ Certainly seems to be contradictive rhetoric coming from one who normally challenges you to remove your limiting beliefs. On reflection, the mind is divided between the conscious and sub-conscious, it is often the limiting beliefs which lay within the latter that slows your progress. Conscious limits are not necessarily limiting but necessary for your successful progress. Music can be one of the most soothing or mind pounding experiences accessible. This was based on a study that was published Sunday in the journal Nature Neuroscience, which concludes that our well-known penchant for donning rose-tinted glasses may be a failure to store risk awareness in a key part of the brain. How are you spending your allotted time at the Fun Park of Life? Are you just sitting on the sidelines people-watching? Did you jump on the biggest rollercoaster immediately? Did you get nauseous and sick…swear you were never going to try that ride again? Did you see a friend get sick on that ride; were you afraid to even attempt it for yourself? Many have heard about meditation, though many don’t practice it. Do you think it’s too much effort? Might help some, but just not for you? Think it’s just an Eastern culture mojo thing? Perhaps you are waiting for more scientific facts to prove it is worth the effort? Well good news! Scientific medical research over the past 10 years has begun to show how meditation may have some very scientific applications as their studies observe changes in the brain and has improved mental and physical wellbeing of meditative individuals.
