![]() Learning how to get inner peace of mind is possible for anyone. It doesn’t matter if you have a violent past that you can’t seem to shake, or a tragic history that has been haunting you for years. Who you were has nothing to do with who you can be. Are you having negative thoughts about your present or future? These can be overcome as well. I'm going to share with you 3 simple steps on how to get inner peace of mind. Step 1: Face it ‘Realistically’. If you want to get peace of mind, you can’t just wish it all away. At some point, your past will catch up with you unless you come to terms with it. It is constantly cycling through your subconscious mind and you need to break this cycle. Tie up any loose ends if possible. Whether you make that phone call to your parents - or you write a letter that you're afraid to send, it doesn’t matter. Unless you accept what has happened and acknowledge your feelings about it, then you will not be able to find the peace that you’re looking for. Facing something realistically is not anyone’s favorite part of the process, but it is a necessary step. Cry if you must or get angry. Ask forgiveness or visit a grave. Just do something! Recognize that it is a past event that cannot be changed. Lessons are to be learned from the past experience, to strengthen you not weaken you. Step 2: Simple Meditation. Meditation does wonders for a weak disposition. Dealing with the rawness of your feelings (having faced this past event realistically, you must be feeling vulnerable), it’s now time to learn the next step on how to get inner peace of mind. Meditation brings you closer to finding peace of mind and will come in handy when something unexpected turns up. It allows you to clear your mind and find tranquility within, despite any outside disturbances that may occur. Practicing meditation every day will be beneficial to strengthening not only your mind but also your spirit. Step 3: Do Good Deeds. The third step on how to get inner peace of mind is by giving back to society or to anybody you can help. This step may vary on an individual basis, but is very important for peace of mind. Start with something small like simply assisting others in daily activities or volunteering your knowledge, skill or trade. Perhaps, you may be able to donate clothes to a homeless shelter, volunteer your time in the soup kitchen or a local charity event. Every good deed you perform gives you a better purpose in life and a sense that you’re doing something worthwhile. These are just some of the ways on how to get inner peace of mind. No one, not even the most unfortunate soul who has faced the most tragic challenges, can say that nothing can lay their worries to rest. For in truth, you have complete control over your decision on whether you will achieve peace of mind. The following words may seem harsh, but we are being realistic here. Those who say it is impossible are only making excuses because there are some things that they would rather keep buried. Keeping your mind buried in the sand will continually cloud and distort all of your current and future decisions. Don’t be like these people! Face what you have to and get inner peace of mind. Clear your mind. You will be glad you did! There is a clearer and brighter future that awaits you when your focus is no longer clouded by the past!
