![]() Music can be one of the most soothing or mind pounding experiences accessible. Choosing what sounds wonderful for any individual is really difficult, most will choose something they 'like' instead of what might be beneficial. Many unpredicted and surprising factors were found via extensive research. The majority of the so-called meditation rest recordings really created adverse EEG styles, just as badly, as Hard Rock and Roll, Heavy Metal, and etc. The surprising point was many selections of Celtic, Native American along with music that consists of loud drums as well as flute were really soothing. The most fascinating finding was any type of music performed live or at reasonably loud volumes had a great response. As I discussed earlier, there isn't really a solitary music that is wonderful for everyone. You have your own unique tastes. It's important that you benefit from the music being listened to. I know personally, that drums don’t do it for me! Just be conscious, it would be a good idea to avoid any type of sad songs that resurrect a sad moment experienced by you, when you’re trying to de-stress. I love Blues tunes, but that may not be the best option for this exercise. My reasoning is obvious. You’re trying to relax and thoroughly clean away your anxious thoughts. The last thing you want is for a sad song to add more anxiety associated with those past events. Here are some general guidelines to check out when using tunes to de-stress.

I love it--and would love to be able to quote it authoritatively. Do you remember any of the sources you found 'via extensive research'? I'd be all over this one--but do need a study or two to sell it--to myself and my clients.

wow, that is pretty interesting about the EEG effects of meditation music. i guess each person has to find the type of music that's relaxing and right for him or her. i love listening to music of all kinds, not just to relax, but to get recharged or pumped up.

I like listening to spirtual music and I also listen to nature sounds. However, I gave up my former habit of being tuned into music all day long when I found how relaxing working in silence is for me. When I hear the soft sounds of breezes in the tress (I live in a forest), the stream babbling over the rocks, and birds singing, my mind expands and my body relaxes. In other words, I feel less stressed when I eliminate background music and only play music if I am going to listen to it with my full attention.
