![]() You may not recall your dreams, or just recall fleeting images, while others can remember every vivid detail. This is normal, and every human being's sleep and dream cycles will vary and be as unique as you are. Many seek out dream analysts, therapists, or even psychiatrists to gain insight into what their dreams mean. Quite honestly, by understanding what a dream is, you're better able to understand your own dreams better than anyone else ever could. Dreams are simply your subconscious mind's way of processing your view of life and emotions through images and sensory elements based on your unique belief and perspectives. Everyone experiences dreams when they sleep. In my research, I realized why books, research and studies have been done on dreams; there is a lot of information that we do know and much more that we only theorize. It's a fascinating and mysterious topic! Research revealed that four distinct stages of sleep. The sleeper simply slowly descends through these stages to the deepest level 4, where your body is most relaxed and your brain rhythmn is at it's slowest. After this, your ascent back up to stage 1 is quite varied with ascents and descents repeated four to seven times during the night, though you will rarely reach the deep stage 4 state again in the same sleep period. Note: Sometimes, dream elements can be affected by your sleeping environment. Ex: an external noise, car horn, music, tv, a flash of light, sensory touch by another being while you are sleep, human or pet.etc. " That chainsaw murderer may not be after you, it may just be your husband snoring, as you experience a stress dream over all the tasks to complete on a project that is due!" If you imagine your brain has a computer, the subconscious side is processing and allocating through the dream sequence, where to file the new data it has currently attained. It may open a long forgotten childhood memory, or if you have recently ended a job, relationship, or moved; it may connect this with your 'death' image file and stamp it close, finished, grand finale'! Simply do a google image search and you would be surprised how varied the perceptions of that one word can be in image form. Understanding the variations possible, should calm any fears that you may have just foresaw your own death! Remember this. Your dream images have more meaning to you specifically, because they are based on your beliefs. The coding that has been set into your subconscious mind since the day you were born through today. No one else, will have that exact coding. You have acquired it through all of your life experiences, beliefs, and perceptions of everything about you. When you have a dream that seems crazy, confusing, or even nightmarish, and want to know why? Relax and think about what about the dream stood out the most? Was it the images, emotions, feelings, or some other sense that held the lasting impression? Using your own intuitive perception, how could that compare to something occurring in your life currently? Many experience recurring stress and anxiety dreams, but once they actually focus clarity on the cause, the effect is the subconscious will close that file and they no longer suffer from those challenging dreams. Also note, that beginning some medications, often can induce visual stimulation throughout your neural networks. You may experience more lucid dreaming. This often eases as your body adjusts to the chemical transition of regular dosage. So always follow your physicians or pharmacists instructions related to ensure that you get the most from your sleep and dreams, but if you don't see relief, let them know so they can find a solution for you. As I stated at the beginning, many books have been written on dreams. Explore the Internet or even your local library and you will find a wealth of resources to explore your dreams in depth. Dream analyzing may aid you in discovering more clearly how your belief system is really coded and you may decide to decode the negative perceptions from your subconscious that were set there from your childhood or by others! This can really benefit you in taking control of yourself and continuing your journey on the path to a more successful future!
